5.5" long, bowl 2.25" high. Weight: 2 3/8 oz. New. Price: $1150
Eder Mathias #89277CO
I have only held two pipes from Eder, but both pieces are made
from such superior briar that they don't need any stain as a
cover for surface flaws and this pipe has straight grain all
around and even flame grain up the shank.  The draw is open
and it easily takes a pipe cleaner.  Nor is it too large, registering
as a Grp. 5.  The stem material, and the stem work, is clearly
as good as possible, feeling very comfortable.  The trim here
looks like Olive Wood to me, but I could easily be mistaken.
Regardless, it is very handsome.  The condition of the pipe is
excellent, it having been smoked once.  BTW, it also sits up.
5.3" long, bowl 2" tall.  Weight: 2 oz., 56 grams.  Used. $750.

Eder Mathias #89271CO (SOLD 8/31/17)
I have nothing but raves for this pipe, and perhaps this pipe
maker.  If you follow this site at all, you know that I'm a sucker
for old style, traditional shapes.  Take me back to pre-war
England and I'm all yours.  But this piece has something extra.
It is a sculpture, no doubt about that; it's intricate, subtle, multi-
faceted.  But I can also see smoking it...holding it and smoking
and admiring it.  Just the stem is a sculpture and work of art,
but it's also flat and comfortable, and the pipe has an open draw
& the cleaner goes right through.  It's on the Rare page
because I looked up Eder and everything I saw was sold and I
doubt he makes many of these.  Even the wood is clean and
barely stained, if at all.  There's a mellowness to the look.  New.
6" long, bowl 2.75" tall.  Weight: 3 3/8 oz., 94 grams. $1100.
